2020 Nissan Maxima vs 2019 Nissan Maxima

Serving Bend, OR

The 2020 Nissan Maxima is a little bit different from its predecessor, the 2019 Nissan Maxima. Before you take these models for a test spin, check out our comparison guide. We're here to help you understand each model year in depth. That way, you'll know what to look for when you head out to the dealership.

Performance

Both the 2020 and 2019 Nissan Maxima feature the same enthusiastic powertrain. The 3.5-liter V6 engine pumps up your ride with 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. Every Maxima also features a continuously variable transmission that sends power to the front wheels. In addition to its impressive speed, this midsize sedan is known for its sporty handling. This is the right sedan for driving enthusiasts.

Appearance

From the outside, you're not going to be able to tell the difference between the 2020 and 2019 Nissan Maxima. Although 2020 does feature some new standard features and a few upgrades, you'll mostly notice these from inside the cabin. Outside, both models feature the same sleek, sculpted look that sets them apart from other midsize sedans.

Features

Here you'll find some essential differences between the 2020 and 2019 Maximas. The brand new 2020 model offers more standard safety equipment, compliments of the Safety Shield 360 package. Every 2020 trim model comes standard with blind-spot warning, front collision warning, and adaptive cruise control to help you avoid danger. The sporty 2020 Maxima, the SR trim model, gets some upgrades, too – namely, a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree monitor.

You can find these features on the 2019 Maxima, but they're not as prevalent. The rearview camera and forward-collision warning system are still standard. However, you have to upgrade to the Maxima SV to get adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. The panoramic sunroof is reserved for the SL and Platinum trims only. And the top-trim Platinum is the only 2019 Maxima to come standard with a 360-degree parking camera.

At Smolich Nissan, you can check out both of these Maxima model years. And, if you're still wondering which Nissan Maxima is best for you, our friendly staff can help you out.
